Vrontero-Guerilla cave-Daseri

The route starts from the village Vrontero, very close to the Albanian borders. We will hike on a dirt road going down towards the banks of the small Prespa (30′ – 5Km), in the place where the village of Agathoto, which has now disappeared, was located. In the middle of this route, is the cave of doctor Kokkalis, the guerillas’ hospital during the Greek civil war, which we will visit.

Arriving at the shores of Minor Prespa, we continue on the lakeside path that will lead us to the core of the Prespes National Park. The easy route (6 km) moves parallel to the banks of the small Prespa offering enchanting images to the visitor, in a landscape of absolute tranquility and peace. After about 2.5 hours we reach the site of another old village, Daseri, where few ruins testify to its existence in the past.

From here, we continue on a dirt road, towards the village Pili.

From here we will transfer you back to Vrontero village.
