Panorama of minor Prespa by kayak

Minor Prespa is the core of the National Park and, perhaps, the most beautiful corner of the area.

We start from the picturesque fishing village of Mikrolimni, heading towards the opposite bank, where there are some ruins that testify to the past existence of the Daseri settlement.

From there we continue to Agios Achillios, a small island in the heart of the wetland in Minor Prespa. Making a short stop, we will visit the ruins of the Royal church built by Samuel II, the “Tsar of the Bulgarians” and learn about the ancient city of Lyka and the legend of the island.

We are heading south to Vidronisi, a small rocky islet at the core of the Prespa National Park, where it is full of nests of various birds. Because of its importance, in this sensitive ecosystem, human presence on the island is strictly prohibited.

Finally, we return back to Mikrolimni.
