Mountain Bike from Agios Germanos to Great Prespa

A very interesting circular route that moves along the edges of Mt. Varnoundas, the main massif in the Prespa National Park, towards the banks of the great Prespa.

We start from the traditional stone-built village of Agios Germanos. Just outside the village is the restored traditional water mill, which was awarded a Grand Prix at the Europa Nostra European Heritage Awards. From there we will cross to the opposite side where the ruins of the old village of Agios Germanos are located, and we will go down a dirt road towards the village of Laimos. As we descend, we will enjoy the nice view to Prespes and Agios Germanos.

From Laimos and following a dirt road, we head towards the border with northern Macedonia. From there, we will continue past the famous bean fields of Prespa and on a dirt road next to the lakeside forest of the great Prespa. We will end up at a beautiful beach of the great Prespa, where we will enjoy the tranquility of the lake and, weather permitting, we can swim in its clear waters.

We continue moving along rural roads to end up at Laimos village.

From here, we will take you back to Agios Germanos.
