A 2-days escape to the Prespa National Park to discover, through Ecotourismo’s outdoor activities, this wonderful place.

ITINERARY

• Day 1   HIKING / MOUNTAIN BIKE

Meeting at Ecotourismo’s adventure base in the village of Milionas, a traditional mudbrick-built settlement. From here we will start hiking on the slopes of Mt. Varnountas, following a route with a panoramic view to the lakes. After a hike of about 2 hours (4Km – Altitude difference 600m) we will reach a small church with a breathtaking view of the area.

After resting and enjoying the view, we will start the descent with mountain bikes via a dirt road that will lead us to the traditional stone-built settlement of Agios Germanos, where we can tour the village and visit the 10th century Byzantine temple.

We now continue the descent on the asphalt road and in about 3Km we will reach the point from where we started.

• Day 2  MOUNTAIN BIKE / KAYAK

Exciting excursion in the area of ​​Mikri Prespa, which is also the core of the Prespa National Park.

We start in the morning with mountain bikes from the base of Ecotourismo, in Laimos following an easy rural road between the bean fields, we head towards Mikrolimni, a beautiful fishing village on the banks of Minor Prespa. The distance to get there is 15Km and particularly easy, since there are no altitude differences.

After reaching Mikrolimni, we leave the bikes and board on the kayaks, paddling towards Vidronisi, a small rocky island at the core of the Prespa National Park, where it is full of nests of various birds. Its importance, in this sensitive ecosystem, is very great, which is why human presence on the island is strictly prohibited.

The tour of the island, is done at a distance of at least 100 meters from its coast. During this excursion, you will have the opportunity to see and photograph many species of birds that find refuge there.
