Hiking from Mt. Devas to Psarades

Distance: 12 Km Difficulty: 2/3 Duration: 4-5 h
Elevation: 600 m Months: All Year Age: 16+

The route starts from the church of Agios Georgios, at the highest point of the route to Psarades, before the road begins to descend towards the village. There is also the centuries-old cedar forest (Juniperus Excelsa), a particularly rare species in Europe.

First we start by following a path that moves along a ridge with a breathtaking panoramic view to the lakes. Then we follow a dirt road that will lead us to the top of Mt. Devas at an altitude of 1,360m. Here the traces from the Civil War are particularly visible since there are the remains of the fortifications of the guerillas army. From this peak we can see almost the entire Prespa basin.

We continue hiking following the ridge and then we descend through dense vegetation to the village of Psarades, where this wonderful route ends.

From here we will be transported back to the starting point.
